Madison Eyes: Madison, Chatham, Morristown, NJ Eye Care, Contacts and Glasses
We utilize technology to enhance the quality of your care in multiple ways. First, our use of technology allows us to analyze your eye health and vision characteristics to better understand quality of your vision and risk or status of eye disease. We do this in a way that is not only measurable, but also, highly reliable, reproducible, rapid, and minimally invasive. Once we perform our standard group of tests, we can then hone in on characteristics that will benefit you through more detailed analysis. Finally, we can use additional technology to refine our understanding of your vision and eye health and to measure your status on an ongoing basis. A partial list of the instruments and technology we utilize with a short description is listed below:
Vision analyzer: This instrument allows us to measure your distance and near visual acuities (sharpness of vision), color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and binocular vision (coordination of eyes).
Autorefractor: This instrument measures near- and far-sightedness as well as astigmatism. In essence, it predicts in what strength of glasses or contacts would likely correct your vision best. We use the results of the autorefraction together with a manual “refraction” to determine your prescription.
Non-contact tonometer: This instrument’s measures a patient’s internal eye pressure primarily to detect glaucoma. We are on our third generation of this instrument; we have updated it as the puff becomes lighter and the accuracy becomes greater.
